DeGan Vineyard's is a family business with plantings in two zones of Wise County. The Northern vineyard is 4 acres planted in Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling with new plantings of Tempranillo coming soon. The Tempranillo cuttings were donated by Brushy Creek Vineyards. The Southern vineyard is 1 acre with test plantings of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Black Spanish and a few other verieties. Last year Bill DeGan made a wonderful blend of Black Spanish and Cab wine called Spanish Cabernet.. The 2003 Crop of Cab and Riesling were sold to Spring Town Winery and will be bottled and sold the Summer 04'. The wine can be purchased at the La Buena Vida tasting room in Grapevine Texas. The Northern vineyard is owned by David DeGan and family and the Southern vineyard is owned Bill DeGan and family. Being a family business brings a poetic level of joy from pruning thru harvest! |
